If a PRN medication does not allow staff to enter a different administered quantity during charting, the Qty Editable option is likely not enabled on the medication order. To proceed, you will need to have a permission role that allows the order to be modified.


To enable an editable quantity:

  1. Open the resident's Medication Orders.
  2. Select the PRN medication order you want to update and click View.
  3. Open the Details tab.
  4. Under Administration Settings, check the Qty Editable box.
  5. Save the medication order.

Once Qty Editable is enabled, staff will be able to enter a different administered quantity when charting the PRN medication.
