Creating Calendar Events and Alerts
The Legacy Calendar allows you to create and manage multiple calendars, schedule events, and receive reminders for important activities.
Accessing the Calendar
- From the Home Screen, click the Activities menu.
- This opens the Calendar Dashboard.
Understanding the Calendar Dashboard
Multiple Calendars
The system allows you to create and manage multiple calendars.
When creating a calendar:
- Enter a Calendar Name
- Select a Calendar Color
Calendar List
The list of calendars appears in the bottom left corner of the dashboard.
- When a calendar is open, the background displays the calendar color.
- When a calendar is closed, the calendar name appears in its assigned color.
Monthly Navigation
At the top of the calendar list, you will see a monthly view.
Features include:
- The current week is highlighted
- Left and right arrows allow you to move forward or backward between months
Calendar Display Views
Above the calendar input section are buttons to change the view:
- Day View
- Week View
- Month View
Select the view that works best for managing your schedule.
Creating a New Event
- In the Calendar Input Section, right-click.
- Select New Event.
A New Event popup window will appear.

New Event Fields
The event window will automatically populate:
- From Time: Current time
- To Time: One hour later
You will then complete the following fields:
Subject
Enter the event name.
Example:
Staff Meeting

Content
Enter additional details or description about the event.
Example:
Monthly care team meeting to review resident care plans.
Calendar
Use the drop-down menu to select which calendar the event belongs to.
Remind
Enable Remind if you want an alert.
When the scheduled event time arrives:
- A notification alert will appear in the bottom right corner of your screen
- The alert will display the event details
Modifying Event Details
If you need to adjust event settings:
- Click Modify Detail
This opens the Event Detail Screen where you can change:
- Start Date
- Start Time
- End Date
- End Time

Creating Recurring Events
Events can be scheduled to repeat automatically.
By default, events are set to:
Not Repeat (One-time event)
To create a repeating event:
- Click the Repeat drop-down menu
- Choose one of the following options:
- Daily
- Weekly
- Monthly
- Yearly

Example: Creating a Daily Event
- Select Daily from the repeat options.
- Choose how many days between events.
- Select one of the following:
- No End Date The event will continue repeating indefinitely.
OR
End After
Enter the number of times the event should repeat.Example:
Repeat daily for 10 occurrences.Saving the Event
Once all information has been entered:
- Click Save
The event will now appear on the calendar according to the date, time, and repeat schedule you selected.
