- Select the Medication from the medication table.
- Confirm the Pharmacy and Physician fields are populated (these will auto-fill if already set up in the Resident → Physician screen).
- Set Passing Times and Frequency

- Click the Repeats field to view and select the appropriate Frequency (e.g., Daily, Twice Daily, Every 8 Hours).
- Verify the Start Date and End Date — these determine when the order appears on the charting screen.
- Adjust Passing Times
- Click on a time to open the clock and select the correct time(s).
- Understand the “Create Events Scheduled in the Past” Question
- You will see a question in the pink section of the Edit Passing screen:
“Do you want to create events scheduled in the past?”- If you select “No”– only future passing times will show on today’s eMAR.
- Example: If the Start Date is 10/29/2025 and the passing time is 8:00 AM, and your current time is noon, the order will not appear on the eMAR today, but will begin showing tomorrow.
- If you select “Yes” – the system will show the 8:00 AM order today on the eMAR charting screen.
- Common Reasons an Order May Not Appear on the eMAR Screen
- The Start Date is set in the future.
- The Yes/No box for creating past events was not answered correctly.
- The eMAR Enabled switch is turned OFF.
