This tutorial explains how to create and manage resident care plans using the new Care Plan Template Library or by creating a care plan from scratch.

Option 1: Create a Care Plan from a Template

  1. Go to the Resident’s Care Plans Screen

    • From the resident dashboard, open the Care Plans screen.

  2. Select a Template

    • Click Choose from Care Plan Library.

    • Select the template you want to use.

  3. Review and Edit

    • The template loads into the resident’s care plan.

    • You can edit goals, descriptions, and objectives to fit the resident’s needs.

Option 2: Create a Care Plan from Scratch

  1. Start a New Care Plan

    • From the resident’s Care Plans screen, select Create New Care Plan.

  2. Add Goals and Descriptions

    • Each care plan can include multiple goals.

    • For each goal, enter:

      • Description – the general statement of care (e.g., Assist with mobility).

      • Objective – measurable or specific support provided (e.g., Ambulate resident with walker twice daily).

  3. Set Care Plan Details

    • Status: Active, Inactive, Completed

    • Care Plan Type: Short-Term, Long-Term, Rehabilitation, Palliative, or Wellness

  4. Save the Care Plan

    • The care plan will now be listed under the resident’s Care Plans screen.

Quick Link to eTask Charting

  • From within the care plan, there is a Quick Link to eTask charting.

  • This lets you preview how the intervention will appear on the charting screen.

Printing the Care Plan

  • Care plans can be printed directly from the Resident’s Care Plans screen.

  • The printed care plan includes the Resident Banner with:

    • Date of Birth

    • Admission Date

    • Code Status

    • Diet

    • Allergies

    • Diagnosis

    • Physician

    • Pharmacy

Tip: Use templates for faster onboarding, then edit or add custom goals as needed. This ensures consistency across residents while still allowing flexibility for individual needs.
